I never have a problem getting to sleep. I have what is called a 'sound selector'. It's an electronic gizmo that can play several different calming sounds. When I listen to the waves I think about being in a secluded beach house. When I listen to the rain I think about being in a cabin in the woods. It works like a charm

Go through the Fresh Produce section of the grocery store in your mind.
Start naming things you would find there in alphabetical order.
Start with the letter "A". List as many fruits and vegetables you can think of that start with the letter "A"...Then go to "B" and so forth.

I have never gotten all the way through the letter "C" before I am sound asleep.

I suffer from insomnia and this works for me 99% of the time.

TRY IT! It really works!
