That's bizarre, my girlfriend just came back all upset saying that her mother did the same thing. I told her not to worry about it, I said "your mother just thinks you're a whore"

That didn't seem to make her feel better, though

No not at all..if you feel comfortable enough with your Mom to talk about your ex's than you should not be offended by her comment...it sounds to me like you have a very close relationship with her...she probably did not mean anything by that comment...do not read into it more than what it is..why would your Mom try to hurt you intentionally?...she loves you and besides she was probably teasing you when she said that (remember Moms are people too, they make mistakes)...

if you are still bothered by it though, mention it to her, not in a confrontational way but just in a "by the way Mom"...I am certain she will clear the air and things will be back to normal in no time...

by the way there is nothing wrong with dating excessively,,this is how we find our Prince charming!.. Best of luck to you..hope this helped..

She simply meant that you were so beautiful that all the guys were constantly asking you out, that you were a desirable girl to ask out. I don't think she meant that you were loose. We all say things that aren't phrased exactly right and I think you misunderstood what she meant. If you dated a lot, she may have assumed you were doing things that you weren't based on how she was when she was your age!

No
You could take it that you were a very attractive, cute
young lady :)

And your mom wishes she could have had 1/2 of the boys that wanted to ask her out when she was younger.

C'mon , its your mom, and you can never be "offended" by anything your parents say....
Its the generation gap that made her say that, cos there are many things we do these days that our parents dont approve of, but they aren't necessarily wrong, and neither the parents are...
So just relax, dont feel offended, but also express it to her in a subtle way that you dint like the comment she made.............

im with jiraya on this one. she is your mom, and in families, you need to be able to speak frankly and openly with each other. if you get offended by what she says, and let it get to you, it would only serve as a roadblock for future conversations that may have greater importance. and the last thing you want is to stop up a steady stream of good advice.

Who knows with moms...
it could have been a compliment in a way, saying you were pretty and popular, but i can see how it could be offensive. The best way to handle that is to say something shocking back... I love the reaction, i would have said, well, we will know in about six weeks..just to aggravate..lol..

Don't make an issue of it. Ask yourself, is it really worth the hurt and possibly a fight over a trivial comment like that?

My parents used to call it my "Girlfriend of the Month Club"
No big deal, I wouldn't be offended.
