This was an answer from Sweetelf, she is having trouble answering today...

- I was raped, tortured and left for dead when I was 15. What I overcame was the all encompassing hate that I felt for all things male and myself.

I almost didn't answer this. I got a list.
My husband's death
My mother's death
Alcoholism (Clean & sober 13 yr)
Depression
Agoraphobia w anxiety and panic attacks
There's more but enuf's enuf. Inspirational thoughts.? It can all be done, Babe, w the help of a whole hell of a lot of friends and the certainty that when the pain is so much bigger than you are that you can't die (suicide) because the pain is bigger than death and you might take it with you...somewhere.
I may have said this somewhere else tonight but as far as the pendulum swings into despair will it one day swing into joy! Count on it and Bless you.

OCD.
I went on a downward spiral not knowing the name of this madness that was claiming every fiber of my being... it's like your brain is running in circles, blind. I recall that song "Bullet with Butterfly Wings," which became so powerful to me during that time. I still listen to it a lot, and whenever I do, I remember what I did and how far I've gotten and about my own problems today and how I sometimes still feel the way I used to. That kinda stuff becomes a part of you, you're past. I've accepted that I've gotten better with something people kill themselves over and I'm proud of myself.

I have been to Hell & back, married Satan's sister while I was there but nothing compares to the sh it my son suffered at the hands of his pedophile attacker.
I can't say I have recovered from this incident as my heart aches every time I look in his eyes because I was not there to stop it from happening & as for my son, he will have the physical scars for the rest of his life.... the thing is though.... life goes on, with or without you.
