yes they will last well pass the 300 k mark but they will give problems at about 200 k or less, but their still good cars, there's an old one like that running around where i live at,i think it has well over 300 k on it,and the guy wont sell it,he,s been offered good money for it,but i would consider mileage as a factor on that one if i was looking to buy one ,good luck with it.,,i don't know about the corn oil in it.

Why buy a car that has only 60 hp? Mercedes Benz 240 is a turtle that barely gets out of it's own way. In the Mercedes Benz Museum in Germany is a green MB-240 sedan that has 3,000,000 miles on it. BIO-Diesel is an option as is almost any oil product you can force past the fuel filters. Here is the other problem Parts for obsolete 30 year old cars will be hard to find. Maintence for such a car will cost more than the car is worth. Front end rubber bushings mounts for subframes may not be available any more Hard parts tie rods ball joints?. The car you want was owned by a old doctor all of it's life and you cannot close the glove box for all the receipts from servicing the car. While the 240d might look like a good deal it cost plenty to keep an old example on the road.

I had an '83 240, bought it with 134,000 on it and drove it to 390,00 when i rolled it a few times. Had it not been for the accident I would probably still be driving it. You will probably need to replace the forward sump, they get trashed by those cement parking space blocks. It's a cheap part and just requires removing 11(?) bolts and there is nothing in the way. I ran Castrol GTX 20W-50 in mine, it's approved for diesel engine use. Not sure about corn oil based fuel, I was drinking a corn based liquid when I rolled mine and don't suggest it.
