I just found out there are white bug/insects crawling around and appearing on my bathroom floor when i moved in. At first i didnt think it was a problem but later on i would spot one on the floor more frequently. I have no idea what they are, as i've never seen this kind of insect before. They are white in color, in an almost oval shape, it looks like they have some kind of soft shell around them and they have thin striped lines across their body shell, approximately 6-8 legs, and it has antenas on its head. I tried squishing them with tissue, but they run away pretty fast. I think they are nested inside this small crack in my bathroom between the bathroom cabinet and the wall, but i don't know which kind of insect spray i could use to get rid of them. Can anyone help me figure out what they are and i would really like to get rid of them from my bathroom!!!

most insects Need water and food . Dampness under sinks tup toilets etc. is plenty .For food ,,just about anything that is or was alive (organic). Do what you can to thoroughly dry out the area, fans are a help. For now remove rugs you don't need. and put down a few moth flakes, not a lot, they are no good for people either. Make sure no pipes are leaking or sweating. If the moth flakes bother you , swep them up and carefully spray bug spray into cracks and joints at walls and floors.

In most cases a professional pest control company will come in and get rid of the bugs. Many now for a small fee come every three months and treat the residence. If during that time you see any bugs they come back at no charge. It is worth the money!!!

You might have "silver fish". They like to hide out in bathrooms. They are fast as hell and can be whitish, silver, or sometimes even clear. They don't hurt you or anything they're just creepy and really annoying. The bug man can spray for them or you can go to lowes or home depot and get your own spray. Ask for help or read the label befor you buy...Good luck.

Silverfish or firebrats, perhaps?
http://www.uos.harvard.edu/ehs/pes_silverfish.shtml (the first picture is much grayer than most silverfish)

Silverfish in a bathroom suggests leaky plumbing and maybe rotten subfloors or such. Fix it now, while the damage is minimal.

You can use boric acid powder if you don't have kids and pets. It will stick to their legs, they'll lick it off and it will desiccate them. Sprinkle some where the floor meets the walls, in the cracks you see them, behind baseboards, below the sinks, etc. Cheap and effective!

Bug Gas, or professional exterminator. To catch them more easily, get some mouse paper. It's really sticky and should let you catch a few so that you can get them identified.
