It means your eustachian tubes are probably clogged up. Ringing in the ears is harmless...it just drives you crazy. You probably just need a decongestant. Sometimes drs will prescribe some nasal spray that will help open up the tubes which run from your ears down to the back of your throat. My first guess would be that you are experiencing some eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD). Google it.

It's just the blood vessels in your head that open more near your ears and it happens to most people occasionally. A "ringing in the ears."
It's called 'tinnitus'.
