The guy was a jerk. He resisted arrest, and he got what he deserved. 50,000 volts.

They'll settle, I would guess about $750K, just to get it out of the limelight. I was intrigued by the guy's questions, but he was being a bit of a jerk, especially if the story is true that he pushed up to the front of the question line. And the police definitely went too far with the taser. C'mon, five officers and they needed a taser?

I certainly hope the guy gets at least that much... Kerry better hope so too... or he is not a true Democrat, right?

I think tasering people at political debates gets into some pretty murky territory and we better mark it as a no-no while we can...

He went there to cause an uproar. His buddies even posted that video on the internet almost immediately after it happened, it was all staged. I have to admit it was funny though..... "don't tase me bro!"

I don't think they should have tased him..... there were a bunch of cops on the kid and they should have been able to handle the situation more gracefully. However he wasn't hurt... he got right up and continued whining. But in today's litigious society, someone will get sued and inevitably it will be settled. Probably more than 1.3 million though.

Because of his past he was targeted for this action. The arresting officers should be arrested and tried for treason. If found guilty they should be executed.

Kerry wanted to answer his questions and the police decided to involve them-self.

There will be rumblings of a law suit -- there is always an amblance chasing attorney hiding in the dark... Students on campus think the police is all show.. Now they know they are not... Stupid the disrupter is in jail.. Unless some one bails him out... Take care of #1 and let stupid handle him self...

He was fighting law enforcement. You think people should be rewarded for that behavior? If so, every law enforcement agency in the country will go under. I hope the campus is smart enough not to reward him a cent!

I see little incentive for the campus to settle. They have no prayer of keeping the incident quiet, so what is their motive for avoiding trial?

I don't see them settling for anything. If he hadn't resisted arrest, he would have a case, as I did not see a reason for the initial arrest.

Depends, on can argue he was resisting arrest and acting uruley, which he was. Did they go to far? Maybe. That'll be debated non stop for the next month or so.
