I'm using Color ideal Foundation (Lancome), Color ID Loose Powder (Lancome) and Concealer (Lancome). I'm using their cleanser/toner too but I'm almost emptying the bottles and later I started to look at Estee Lauders' skincare products, moisturizers, serums and cleanser/toners and I found some stuff that I like.

Is it OK or HARMLESS to use make-up from a different brand and skincare products from another different brand?

Please tell me your experience if any of you try to mix other brands (It doesn't has to be the same brands from above if you don't use them)

I would also like to hear your experience from these two products. I'm new with Lancome and later I started searching about Estee lauder products.

I don't mind reading about other brands but I would like to know more about Lancome and Estee Lauder then other brands.

Please and Thanks! ^_^

It's perfectly safe to use different brands, as long as skin care is for your skin type, and makeup is non-comedogenic.
Yesterday, I wore eyebrow makeup from Clinique, mascara from Lancome, eyeliner from Cover Girl, blush from Maybelline, and lipstick from L'oreal. I have also been known to use Revlon, Physician's Formula, and Estee Lauder.
No problems yet! [ I'm 51! ]

Since I work for Lancome and I am studing to be an Estitician, I can HONESTLY answer that your skin care should stick with the same concept... don't change it up. The color can be mixed up.
I KNOW that most of EL and Lancomes products are tit for tat. So its who do you like at which counter more.

Change your toothpaste not your skin care. Especially your cleansers/toners and serum/moisturizers. It takes a while for you skin to adjust anyway.

If what you're doing now works, just keep it. I use products from a variety of different brands and it's fine for me. I think consistency is probably the most important thing. If you have sensitive skin, you could try products with less chemicals in. Brands such as Simple and LUSH are more natural and can be less harsh on your skin.

Never mind, you can use more than 1 or 2 brand if the brand suitable for you. Me too use multiple brand make up product and nothing happens to me. The most beautician will suggest to use the product with the same brand to sell their product. It's up to you, either you want to follow the instruction or not.

Well, from what i've heard its better to use the same brand of makeup/concealer mostly because other different brands ( like store brands) might have some ingredients that might irritate your skin, or cause breakouts. I recommend using makeup thats ingredients are similar to that of your usual brand, and oil-free is always a good choice when picking makeup or other facial products. ^_^

Definately. In fact, I use the best product from each line. I've tried many lines but like the cleanser from one, the serum from another, the moisturizer from another.

The only thing I heard is that moisturizer is put over any one else's serum.

its completely ok to use stuff from 2,3,4 or more different lines.
Estee Lauder is awesome, its just a classic. Good, clean makeup.
but anyways, using a skin care system from Neutrogena and using makeup from Chanel won't make any difference.

I use this skin system from TESS and i use almost all Clinique makeup. My skin in fine.
great, even.
don't fret.
its okay!
use whatever products you want!

Of course! It's all basically the same stuff... probably even made in the same factory.

They just SAY you're not supposed to combine brands so that you'll buy their products.

It's TOTALLY ok to mix products (no offense but kind of a dumb question, but I'm glad you asked!) You can read people's product reviews for those two brands at makeupalley.com
