I know that gift wrapping is not that serious for some people, but for people who are more creative when it comes to gift giving, is specialty printed tissue paper for gift bags and specialty ribbons for gift wrapping needed to make gifts more decorative and different? Would you buy it (themed or printed tissue paper and ribbons) if it was available?
A gift store in Long Beach, CA with a website will be opening in November 2007! Wanna see what creative people like.

Most of us here are dedicated crafters, which means we prefer to create our own things. It just looks nicer that way, and of course one of a kind. But people who prefer shopping over crafting might like it.

eh, no, not like you're describing. I can buy cute patterned tissue paper at Target for a very fair price; even my Costco has some drop dead gorgeous specialty bows and paper this time of year. Yeah, I've bought them and it does make it sort of fun to make a present extra special with a special tag (again, set from Costco) or bow, but I couldn't imagine going out of my way to pay high prices for the giftwrap. Maybe I'd pay to have someone else wrap a gift, but a lot of places do that for free anyway. I've found darling ribbons at Michaels or Hobby Lobby on sale that make very nice package wraps. I think people notice things like real cloth ribbon vs. plastic curling ribbon.

For people like me you would stock books about gift wrapping, and simple, single colour wrapping paper, (although I just use what is at hand most of the time.)
If you can stock a range in a simple scheme, paper, ribbon, tag and embellishments you might sell me some (if I did not live half a world away,) but I would not buy printed ribbon nor pre-shaped bows for printed decorated paper.
When I do buy in a gift wrapping shop, it is mostly to use the materials for different crafts, not for wrapping gifts. So contemplate selling materials for different crafts or just selling in such a way that people do not (always) have to buy a complete line if they only want one part of it.

My personal experience with colored tissue papers is that too often the colors "run" when the paper gets wet. I figure wrapping should enhance as well as conceal a gift, rather than have potential for diminishing the gift's value. I've had the same problem with some ribbons.
Accordingly, I only use color-fast wrapping materials.

I always use printed tissue paper and some bold colored ones as well, gift bags are great to fit just about anything into, and easier for some people to open, I like making my own gift tags using ribbon, raffia and dried flowers depending on the occasion. I also like making gift baskets and personalize it according to the person I'm giving it to.

I think I am. I like to put effort into the people I care about. If I a giving a gift to someone that I don't know too much about or if I know they have everything I usually give a gift card or money..

Yes, definitely. I buy it not only for gift wrap but for other craft projects as well. Especially the printed tissue, that's harder to find.And in L.B? Even better! What 's the name of the store and where in L.B?
