My computer just came back from standby and made a quick "yuun!"sound?

Not loud. What does that mean? Drive motor? This never happened before.

Its the hard drive. When the computer starts disk spins and makes it. Doesnt necessarily means its a bad sign, unless it starts making really weird loud ones.

I hear it from my laptop almost everyday but not from the tower/system.

Hard to tell from the transliteration, but probably the disk drive spinning up, maybe fans speeding up.
