You can definitely breast feed. Your milk is always better than that nasty formula. Chances are your baby has already been exposed to your virus anyway.

No, the milk you pumped contained antibodies against the flu and your baby has already been long exposed to the virus before you had any symptoms. However if possible I would use this milk soon, rather than freezing it.

During any "ordinary" illness such as a cold, sore throat, flu, tummy bug, fever, mastitis, etc. you should continue to breastfeed. Just remind your doctor you are nursing so that if medications are needed he can prescribe something that is compatible with breastfeeding. Most medications are safe to take while breastfeeding, and for those that are not recommended there is almost always an alternative medication that is safe.

Illness in the Mother
Very few maternal illnesses require the mother to stop breastfeeding. This is particularly true for infections the mother might have, the most common type of illness for mothers are being told they must stop. Viruses cause most infections, and most infections due to viruses are most infectious before the mother even has an idea she is sick. By the time the mother has fever (or runny nose, or diarrhoea, or cough, or rash, or vomiting etc), she has probably already passed on the infection to the baby. However, breastfeeding protects the baby against infection, and the mother should continue breastfeeding, in order to protect the baby. If the baby does get sick, which is possible, he is likely to get less sick than if breastfeeding had stopped. But often mothers are pleasantly surprised that their babies do not get sick at all. The baby was protected by the mother’s continuing breastfeeding. Bacterial infections (such as “strep throat”) are also not of concern for the very same reasons.

Do not quit breastfeeding because you have the flu. Your breast milk contains important antibodies that will aid his body fighting off sickness. Keep breastfeeding him, and yes it is OK to give him the milk you pumped!

You absolutely MUST use it. It will contain the antibodies the baby needs to FIGHT any symptoms of the flu. It's also possible that the baby won't even get sick BECAUSE of the antibodies in the milk.

The flu isn't in your milk, go ahead and offer it to your baby. HOWEVER, if you've been taking medication for your flu symptoms the medication will be present in your breastmilk and you shouldn't give that to your baby unless you speak with a healthcare professional.
You have to stick to just plain old tylenol, saline drops, halls and vicks vapor rub.
Good luck!

Absolutely...it will be beneficial to her since she has been exposed to your germs. Your breastmilk will contain anti-bodies that will help her fight off your virus. Definitely continue with the breast milk...it is one of the many benefits that it offers.
