Pamela, I believe, is seriously asking (as she always does) about melon, the fruit. Then I suggest you pick up the fruit and tap it, if it sounds hollow, then it is ripe. That is how I check.

scent...exceedingly canteloupes (scent the top, in the event that they're greenish, they are not ripe)....I thump watermelons....additionally watermelons that have a yellow tummy (backside of melon) are often candy>>>it improve into humorous at some point i improve into cking the melons (like i do) and quite a few human beings got here up and requested if i could %. out a ripe one for them...it improve into humorous!

If we're talking fruits, you check the spot it lay on (where the sun didn't shine!), the more yellow it is, the riper the melon. If we're talking dirty, well....I wouldn't know.

I smell the bottom and gently push. If it's a watermelon I tap on it to see if it sounds hallow.
