I was getting unenployment and had several weeks of it left when I accepted the short term assignement that just recently ended.
I reside in the State of Michigan...?? Any ideas out there...??

likely you can draw on the weeks you had remaining prior to this short term assignment. I doubt you gained any additional weeks of eligibility for this 8 weeks of work you did thou.

Unemployment benefits are based on the first four of the last five quarters. So any recent work would not be applicable for this time frame. If you had wage credits in the previous four quarters, those would apply. But, there's always a but, your most current employer does have the right to appeal your benefits even though they do not affect his employment taxes.

Apply for unemployment

I have lived in two states. The uneployment office may look at a different quarter to calculate your unemployment benfits.

It depends on the window the unemployment office looks at when determining payout. Definitely contact the state office and have them calculate it for you.
