It would be beneficial to take AP Biology, Chemistry and perhaps Calculus. If you can get good scores on those you might be able to cut down on the amount of time you need in college to gain the necessary credits before moving on to pharmacy school (seems most people take 2-3 years of regular college before being able to attend pharmacy school). Even if you don't get good scores, at least you'll have a better understanding of the subjects when you must take them in college. Another major class to take in high school if you can is Physics. If you can't fit all of those AP classes into your schedule at some point in high school, at least take AP Chemistry as it will probably benefit you the most because you must take more Chemistry classes than anything else. Also, make you you are up to speed on math because it will hold you back a bit if you can't start at at least precalculus.

While researching what is required to get into pharmacy school, I've found you need to take up to Organic Chemistry 2, two classes of Biology (while some may say you only need one, it seems more beneficial to take two), two Physics courses, and either up to Calculus 2 or 3. You might want to start looking at pharmacy schools to see what they require individually.

Take as much math and science as you possibly can. The pharmacy program is very rigorous. It requires Calculus, Biology, Botany, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics - not to mention all of the specialty courses in the pharmacy field. It also requires excellent grades and a high ACT score to get accepted into the pharmacy school.

Hi,I myself was interested to continue my study in pharmacy but I could not .now I earned master of chemistry and I am looking for a ath to continue it in pharmacy .The thing that I should advise you is to take chemistry serious in a parallel manner of other courses such as biology .My mistake was that I just pay attention to chemistry but if you want to enter the college you should emphasise to all your lessons .When you enter the university yes 90% you will study chemistry .You sould love shemistry and esp organic chemistry .The hardest field in chemistry .So take my advice serious before entering all lessons are important but after that chemistry is the most importat one.

Most pharmacy schools do not accept you out of high school. There are only a handful which do. Your college record will be more important.
