Because a man named Vladimir Guerrero is on their team! Go Angels!

As a long suffering Angels fan, it feels good. I've watched this team since 1972. It's been tough. The best move the halos ever made was hiring Mike Scioscia. His brand of baseball (Dodger Baseball) is what has transformed the entire organization from a 'poor us' attitude, to a winning attitude. Small ball, accountability, scouting and shoring up the farm system instead of buying free agents; that's why we're so deep.

Imagine if the Dodgers were still using that philosophy? Yes, under the Mccourts, they're trying again, but it will take time. Wouldn't the Dodgers love to have 2-3 great starters in AAA like we were able to bring out the last 2 years? Weaver, Santana (in spite of his current troubles), Saunders, Moseley.

Look, Rivera breaks his leg. No problem. Willits steps up and proves he can play. GA goes down. Willits to the rescue again. Not to forget Tommy Murphy, and Figgins. Speaking of which, Figgy has a slow start & injuries. Wow, Maicer Izturis & Erick Aybar come from nowhere. Izzy is the team leader in avg with RISP.

We're set to be competitive for years to come. Look at Salt Lake. Shoot, look at Rancho Cucamonga. Fortunately I live in So Cal. Rancho isn't that far. They have great talent there.

Janeynbruce, you said it all. My one complaint is the name change. Just because they are playing National style was no reason for the owner to change the name so that it looks like they are a team from Los Angeles. They will always be The Anaheim Angels to those of us who were with them from day one in Anaheim.
We wish that we could walk to the Angel Stadium like we did when we lived there. Now living in Washington makes it one long road trip into Seattle to see a game.
