Economics the year I was born?

I am looking for a site that will tell me what the ecomnomic situation was like the year I was born.
Price of cars, tobacco, a gallon of milk and gas, that sort of thing.
Help me out folks, it's important to me.

The only place I can think of would be a newspaper morgue, pick the date you were born. I don't know if any have put their morgues on the Internet. Try the biggest papers, New York Times etc.(newspaper morgues are what papers call past editions of their paper)
