I start coughing as if I'm sick to see how many people will get out of line in front of me.

I read magazine covers. Eavesdrop on conversatons. I will admit... When I'm in the express lane, I do sometimes count the number of items that people are unloading from their basket or cart! Though I will rarely say anything since arguing about it will delay us all even more! I like to people -watch. Also look at all the colourful gum/candy wrappers. Sometimes I converse with others in line. Flirt with guys.

Read the rag magazines if it is a long line.I'll get one from the stand then get back in line and read until it's my turn, then put it back.Would that be considered "theft of services"?

I moan and groan, hang my head an shake it back and forth, because the people in front of me are trying to find 3 cents in their purse or wallet. or just plain old yackin to the cashier about nothing. in last weeks case... the checkout lady was 125 years old and couldn't even seperate the plastic bags. she took forever to wait on the two people before me.

Sometimes I read the magazine covers. Most of the time I just wait.
And, unload the cart.

Well, first I empty the trolley onto the conveyor belt and then depending on how long the line is, I usually twiddle my thumbs! LOL!

Dip in others conversations, hope my heinie looks fine, smile at people, make faces at babies, read everything in sight, sing the elevator music, send good vibes all around.
