and Kat is worried about her taking off. Don't you think Kat is turning into "The Man". Why didn't Kat get Medical coverage for her employees. Must be a Republican.

Kat "forced" Pixie to take at least a week off. And wanted to make sure she was better. She probably can't afford insure for her employees. If she was "turning into 'The Man,'"would she have raised money for the surgry??
Also, to someone else's comment: "Think about it, if it were truely her own shop, she wouldn't have named it after Miami Ink. It's a spinoff show, TLC has control."
The shop is called High Voltage. NOT LA Ink. Only the show is called that.

Interesting thoughts. Umm like most small business owners, she does not have health insurance. Her employees know this going into the business. Pixie will get her own private insurance and then this will no longer be a problem. Kat wanted her to take the time off, she's a good friend to Pixie and she's more concerned about her health than her being at work hence the reason she raised money for Pixie to get the surgery.

Or, more likely, as a new and small business owner, that is not an option. It takes money to pay for insurance and if you are just starting out with a new venture, that isn't always at the top of the list. Most small businesses just don't have the capital to pay for health benefits. Kat may not be doing everything right, but she is trying and learning as she goes. How many bars do you know that have health insurance? As someone who works for a large corporation, I appreciate what I have, but know that it takes big bucks to pay for that type of thing.

I've never ever liked cheek piercings. However, she can pull them off to some extent. I think it's because she actually has natural dimples and the piercings are placed directly in the dimples. The only two facial piercings i don't like are monroes and dimple piercings, but it really depends on the person and the jewelery. I don't know how well I could pull facial piercings off. I've thought about getting quite a few different ones, but never did. I'm more into interesting ear piercings I guess. I think if my lower lip was just a tad bigger, I would get a vertical labret. I've always liked the look of those. I think they're very feminine and pretty, plus they don't actually go inside your mouth, so no gum erosion!

Most tatoo artist are self employed. Just like real estate agents & hairdressers. You work for someone but your income is up to you. Therefore you are responsible for your own healthcare. I realize that Pixie is not a Tatoo artist but even at big real estate brokerages the secretary & non agents don't get insurance provided.

etkatluv, you talk like Kat is a true business owner. That's just not the case. If it weren't for TLC, she wouldn't have "her own" shop. Think about it, if it were truely her own shop, she wouldn't have named it after Miami Ink. It's a spinoff show, TLC has control.

The Republican comment is just assinine and ridiculous liberal rhetoric.
