When someone says, "I love to hate him/her," does that mean they like that person, but they pretend not to like them; does it mean they are envious of that person, or does it mean they truly dislike that person and they love making their life miserable? I never really used it, but I hear girls say, "Oh, I love to hate him." So do they like him? What do you mean when you say you love to hate someone? Does it mean a bad or good thing?
I'm confused.

No, no, no. You have it all wrong.
Take a look at that statement. "Love to hate". It means you hate somebody so much, you actually LOVE the feeling of HATRED you have for a person. It's a very severe feeling of hate.

No, it means that you hate someone. But in a way that you're not always thinking about it and plotting their death and stuff. You can hate someone and being around them makes you stab them up the nostril with a knife. Or you can just hate someone and hate being around them, the sound of their voice, laugh, their smell.. but you kind of get a satisfaction out of hating them.
It's not a good thing for the hated person.

To me Loving to hate someone means that You enjoy Being made @ the person and having Negative energy towards them.. Hence comes the term I love to Hate them..

When you hate someone, and you enjoy hating them. You might think its funny or just fun, maybe it gives you something to do, but basically, you just really hate the person, but its fun to hate them. I have a few people I love to hate. :)

im pretty sure it means that they r jealous like u see them n they have everything u dont have so u hate them b/c they have it but they r living what u want to have so u love it at the same time. if someone told me that about myself i would probablly be happy lol as bad as that probablly is but i doubt ne 1 would say that about me right now...someday they will :) but i say enough with the love to hate thing n just be happy 4 the other person.

they truly hate the person, and that hate give them meaning in their pathetic little lives. what ever happened to forgiveness? what could anyone possibly do that you would "love to hate" them? Oh, and you get a star, cause it's a really great question!

I love to hate him/her means that they really like that person , but they cant dare to hate him/her because of something special they feel with that person. Its a bad thing for me because it create a feeling of envies.

If I love to hate you, then I don't like you, and I have a great time with not liking you. Gossip, mean spiritedness, etc. all go along with loving to hate someone.
People say it a lot about Britney and Paris. Those two girls just drive people nuts, and people love to gossip, get mad at them, be catty!
