There was a time limit on questions and his time was up, but he refused to stop speaking. When people asked him to stop his questioning (i.e. ranting) he became aggressive and verbally abusive, telling them he wasn't going to. That's when the cops moved in.

Then he becomes an irate, abusive, disorderly loudmouth who was disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. That's when the police tased his sorry a**. Why are so many people upset with police?

He had his chance to "speak freely" but then blew it bigtime. I think the arrogant little weasel got what he deserved. Any thoughts?

for my section i do no longer think of using a tazer replaced into needed and conform to that quantity. John Kerry ( a Democrat) replaced into top there because it happened and did no longer something so i stumble on it challenging to have faith a democratic president sitting in the white homestead might have replaced it. The police branch in touch replaced into the campus police and not the national shelter and no person replaced into killed so I see no genuine assessment to Ohio state. that could be a violation of civil rights yet no longer loose speech. the guy have been asked to leave and grew to alter into beligerent so as that they tried to forcibly do away with him, it had no longer something to do with liking what he had to assert. Police departments many times abuse powers and could be faulted decrease than the management of the two Democratic and Republican administrations. Kerry has commented on it and pronounced he has under no circumstances had a communicate end that way in all his speaking occupation and he did no longer comprehend a tazer replaced into used and that he was hoping that neither the scholar or the police have been injured. The Campus pronounced that this youthful guy had brought about disturbances at comparable activities and while the police began to do away with him many in the objective marketplace applauded. lots is yet to be got here across in this rely on the subject of the police methods for use of a tazer, the pre communicate regulations laid out via the campus, precisely what the guy officer observed that made him elect to apply the weapon etc. i do no longer see how all and sundry can blame Kerry for this, nor am i able to make certain how all and sundry would desire to blame Bush. that could be a campus police/scholar war of words.

I'm not sure this is a free speech issue, but the police sure mishandled the situation. Meyer was disorderly and resisted arrest, but he wasn't posing a threat to anybody, so why did it require 4 cops AND a taser to control him? And Kerry said that's okay, I'll answer his question. I know Meyer acted like a jerk, but the cops kind of over-reacted, didn't they?

We need to guard jealously our right to free speech. At the same time, some people just need the crap beat out of them, and he got off easy. It's a shame his momma didn't rear him any better.
How's that for a regional take on it?
