Pedro will win two more games, cause Beltran will hit homers in both of them, magic number to 9.

Reyes will go 4-4 in another game - magic number to 8.

Phillies will blow two leads, magic number to 6.

Glavine will win one more, magic number to 5.

Pelfrey will win another - magic number to 4.

Maine will pitch one more gem, magic number to 3.

ElDuque or O.Perez will give enough to hold a lead and the bullpen will actually surprise everyone by not blowing it (it could happen) magic number to 2.

Phillies will be routed in one game, magic number to 1.

Phillies will tear out the hearts of their fans by losing on the last day, even though the Mets were blown out on the same day with Heilman, Mota and Wagner giving up 5 runs a piece. . .

Magic Number? Bring on the champagne! We definitely need a drink or 4 for this season!

After being swept by Philadelphia and losing the first 2 to Washington, its not really a matter if the Mets will or will not choke. It comes down to whether the Phillies can keep winning.

Can the Phillies keep winning? That my friend is the question.

They have never put together a really good steak of top quality baseball. They thought that they were going to cruise.
Reyes started to believe the hype and tailed off, just as Wright did last year after the All Star game.

Minaya failed at getting a scrappy all-out player who would provide a spark when things were getting slow. A guy like Ryan Freel, Craig Counsell, David Eckstein. Not necessarily those players, but players like them.

And they should have gone after Pudge when Texas let him go. Piazza could have moved to first base back then when he still had some mobility.

seem on the vivid factor. not one of the baseball specialists picked the Mets to even make it to the postseason this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. It merely wasn't their 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. The Cubs, the Brewers, and the Phillies followers have suffered extra beneficial than the Mets interior the previous century. The Cubbies have not won in a hundred years, the Brew team merely made the postseason for the 1st time in over 25 years (2d postseason ever in team historic previous), and the Fightin' Phils have in user-friendly terms one international sequence championship and over 10,000 franchise losses.

I still believe they win the NL East; they've been streaky all year. The Phillies, I just don't see them as a champion.

During the offseason, however, Omar has to completely revamp the pitching rotation. There are no starters that are available as free agents this year so it won't be easy.
Personally, right now, he doesn't have anything to lose by starting Phil Humber and Mike Pelfrey twice in the last 2 weeks. They both need to be in the rotation next year, and they may be the right medicine to right the ship this year.

I believe they will go to the playoffs and have a good chance to go to the world series. There is such a fine line between the ability of all the playoff teams it will just come down to who gets hot.
