I'm 16, still a virgin, and I've never even kissed a guy on the cheek that wasn't family

she wants me on it because the guy i like and i are getting close. he isn't the kind that just wants sex.honestly i believe that he wants me on it because of my craps and mood swings. I dont like the idea of having someone messing around my private area. But if this guy and I do anything, I'd be happy to know that we were protected.

i'm on it and also 16 because my mom wanted me to go on it. honestly the pap smear test does not hurt. it's a tad bit uncomfortable but if you just relax and dont tense up it's over before you know it. if your doctor is a male, there will be a female nurse in the room and even your mom if you're comfortable with it. it takes like not even a minute and it's over and done with before you know it. good luck!

You never said why your mom wants you on birth control, so I am going to assume it is to help with heavy/painful periods? A papsmear isn't as bad as it sounds...it's more uncomfortable than painful and it's over before you know it. If a guy you like said he thinks you should get on it, make sure this guy isn't after only one thing. I am not judging him, it just sounds kinda fishy...anyways, it is your decision to get on the birth control or not so weigh the pros and cons and choose. Even if you do not plan on becoming sexually active any time soon, it helps with cramps and your flow and some can help with PMS and skin conditions (acne). You would have to get a pap done when you turn 18 anyways, even if you still are a virgin, and it is only for the good of your health. It can be scary, but making sure your body is in tip top shape is very important.

It's not a good idea to have sex without using some sort of pregnancy protection. Why don't you want to take a pap smear test? Once you turn 18 you are supposed to have one once a year to check for cervical cancer. It's a little uncomfortable sometimes, but not painful. You being a virgin won't make it painful.

A pap smear is a good idea, it will help make sure you are healthy down there before having sex. I had it at age 11 and it was "no big deal". Not painful at all. Its for your health. I'd get it.

My opinion for you is to just relax and get the pap smear test. It isn't as bad as you're making it seem. Doctors are able to get it done really fast.

a pap smear is probably the most awkward and uncomfortable thing that you will ever do, but it is a necessary evil. I think you should go ahead and have one and get on the pill.
