O.J. has continually been called a murderer and killer by the Goldman family and many other public people, despite the fact that he was found not guilty of the crime.
Isn't there any legal protection from this? Or does the civil responsibility case allow for this? I would hope that think if someone started calling me a killer, I would have some legal rights to protect me.

For a public figure to prove libel or slander. They must show 2 things:
1. The accusations are false.
2. The accuser knew they were false and acted with malice.

Acquittal in a criminal court means the prosecution fail to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he is guilty. This is much different than proving he did not. In any case, the Goldman family DOES believe he is guilty. No ruling by any court will change that.

Haven't you ever heard the saying " Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."? It's not against the law to call people names. This happens everyday all day to millions of people. If you could sue for that our court system would fall in a very short time. The fact that he was found liable in the civil case pretty much tells us he did it. Why in the world would you be offended on behalf of him of all people? I hope he gets nailed this time.

He was found responsible for the deaths on Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson in civil court. So I think that covers it.

Truth is an absolute defense in slander, libel, and defamation.

He was acquitted by a criminal court where the burden of proof is high, but in the civil courts, a verdict was rendered against him in the wrongful death case.

He was found guilty in civil court, not criminal court.

The Goldman's have the right to say what they want about O.J.'s crime. He was found guilty.

Why are you defending a murder and now a thief and robber as well. Just because a jury found him not guilty, a civil court found him responsible for Nicloe's death....you be the judge. Now he is in deep doo-doo again. Are we going to see another "white bronco chase" down the "strip"?
