Most players have negotiated that into the contract. There are some that require US, others accept Canadian. It is a business decision that each player has to make. With today's value of the US dollar, I think most would want Canadian.

Haha thats a hell of a question. I would say 99% chance no cause players who sign contracts there would have to have weird clauses in the contracts to make up for conversion factors. I would say since all the major sports are run out of the US then everything is paid in US dollars.

NBA, NHL and MLB all get paid in US currency. that's a problem canadian NHL teams are having. they charge less for tickets than US teams, but still have to pay out in US currency. that's why they all have smaller payrolls compared to US teams.
