Curious to know WHAT program caused that much chaos.

You may end up doing a repair on yoru windows.

Reboot to your Win2K CD, choose repair.

You may find yourself reinstalling some programs, but as a rule, your saved files will be OK.

Run "sfc /scannow" for the Run box, in safe mode. You will need your W2k CD.
