Given the start of both team's seasons, Penn State should definitely be able to pull it off (finally!). But for whatever reason, Michigan has a way of psyching Penn State out. And Michigan will be on a high from their big win against Notre Dame. I think if Penn State can stay in the game mentally, they should have an easy win. This game can make or break the rest of the season for either team. Who do you think will win?

Tru Blu: I extended the expiration date of the question. I hope you're wrong (no offense) but am afraid you may be right!

LS: I 100% agree with you that Penn State should win this game. It's just that, no matter how good they are, Penn State cannot play a good mental game against Michigan. Morale is high in Ann Arbor right now and that atmosphere will be electric. I just hope that Penn State can tune out the hype of the game, because, traditionally, they cannot. I do hope you're right, though. Thanks for your answer!

NO. I want you to watch the game before you pick a best answer please. Just trust me Michigan will smoke Penn State. It's a "Mike Hart" gaurantee.

This is a harder question to answer currently than it would've been a week ago. Last week I would've said Penn State for sure would win at Michigan, but after seeing the whooping Michigan gave to Notre Dame, I'm not so sure. Yes, I would love to see Penn State win and I think they will, but we haven't won a game against Michigan in 8 years. The last time PSU won was 1996. Michigan lost their two first games because they faced spread offenses and weren't able to stop them. Michigan will have an easier time against Big 10 teams and this game will definitely be close. I'm thinking a similar game to the 2005 one will be played, but most likely with a different outcome.

This may be hard to even imagine, but, as Professional Handicappers League member Jimmy Boyd points out, Michigan still can win the Big Ten championship and go on to play in the New Year's Day Rose Bowl, though it's ALMOST a sure bet that it won't be in a replay of the 2007 holiday game.
Michigan started on the long road back to redemption last weekend following pitiful early-September performances by spanking Notre Dame 38-0 to go to 1-2 on the season, though respectability remains a light year or so away.
The Wolverines began the campaign on shaky footing with back-to-back losses to Appalachian State and Oregon. Penn State, meanwhile, jumped off to a 3-0 mark with victories over Florida International, Buffalo and the same woeful Irish team that the Wolverines whipped.
Observers believe Michigan's conference kickoff match with 10th-ranked Penn State Saturday could paint a pretty good picture of how things in the Big Ten shape up in what may be legendary Nittany Lions Coach Joe Paterno's last hurrah.
Penn State is laying 4 points in Ann Arbor and the total is 43.
"I'm not sold on Penn State yet," said Boyd, who hails from Big Ten country himself.
"They haven't played anyone and the Big Ten always is a different story.
"Although Notre Dame hasn't been impressive, Michigan beating them so convicingly was crucial for this team.
"The Wolverines still can win the Big Ten, believe it or not.
"I think we'll see both Penn State and Michigan's true colors this Saturday.
"The Irish are just young and inexperienced.
"There is some talent in South Bend and this team will get better as the season goes on."
Notre Dame is receiving 4 points from Michigan State on Saturday.
It has been more than a decade since the Lions won a game between the pair, with their last triumph coming on Nov, 16, 1996.
.
Michigan has won eight straight versus PSU and leads the series 9-3.
The Wolverines' downhill slide began this past New Year's when they lost the Rose Bowl 32-18 to Penn State.
Both teams faced disppointment earlier in the season when Florida and Ohio State beat them out of BCS berths, sending both squads to Pasadena.
USC has emerged from the first few weeks of the 2007 season with wins over Iowa and Nebraska and the nation's No. 1 collegiate ranking.
The Trojans are giving 27 points to Washington State this weekend.
In another game that could be a factor in how things ultimately shake out in the Big Ten, Wisconsin is laying 9 1/2 to Iowa.

Joepa should have them ready to play this weekend. I like Penn State in this one. Michigan hasn't shown much yet. Notre Dame is just terrible this season and just can't be used as a barometer. If Penn State watches game footage of the App. State game, they should see that Michigan leaves the middle of the field open a LOT. App. State killed them in the middle and Michigan still hasn't done much about it.

I think this could be a very good and very close game. Michigan is not as bad as they looked in their first two losses. I'm not sure PSU is really much better than Michigan and the game is in Ann Arbor. I'm picking Michigan in this game 24-21.

Penn State will win only if they run a spread offense. If not then Michigan will win.

I think it is stupid whoever said an "easy" win for Penn State. Michigan will slay the Nittany Lions.

The only way Michigan will psych them out is if PSU starts the scout team. This game shouldn't be close. Michigan will come off their high when they realize they're not playing a bunch of redshirt freshmen and poorly coached underclassmen.
