They just use gay people as an example of a minority that doesn't get equal rights, but they never do anything about it!

How many of the democratic presidential candidates actually support gay marriage?

I don't think any of the politicizing about gay marriage has a thing to do with whether people or parties "like" gay people.

It's an issue of political agenda, and to understand the Conservative position, you have to understand how our laws have traditionally been made. Conservatives follow stare decisis (which comes from English Common Law and was brought here, incidentally). The Conservative view under the English Common Law, is that marriage is an institution of the church.

The Liberal position views the US Constitution as a "living, breathing document" which should change upon the will of the majority. I think Liberals just embrace gay marriage to garner the votes of the sympathetic and uninformed.

If you haven't noticed by now, the Dem's will use anyone they can, for as long as they can, then dump them by the curb. Look at Cindy Sheehan. Look what they did to her. Dem's will say anything, jump on any band wagon, and rub anyone's you-know-what just to get the vote. What ever happened to Michael J. Fox? After the election he disappeared from view, but during the campaign he was front and center with the DNC. What happened to all the pep-rallying for same sex marriage (I didn't say gay marriage because who said I had to be gay?)? I hate to say it but it's true.

G - it's not that we hate gays, why hate the act - hate the sin, not the sinner. And we didn't take away any rights. The rights were never there to be taken away.

Why do some conservatives pretend to like the ultrareligious and then screw them over financially? Or in the case of the Bushies, laugh at them behind their backs.

And how about all the virulently homophobic right-wingers caught in gay sex scandals.

I don't go out of my way, but I try to be accepting and tolerant of gay people. and I don't hold them up as an example of a minority. they're just people, only with a problem, the same as whores and perverts.

I don't pretend to like them. I do not judge others because of race, religion or sexual orientation. I think gay people should be able to marry. Why don't you stop questioning my tolerance and starts showing that you support gays in their quest to be treated as regular citizens instead of second class citizens?

well... it's more of a "they don't hate them"... where Republicans seem to for the most part...

the dems are the best you'll do in this two-party system... granted... they all aren't falling over each other to give the rights gays want... but they aren't falling over themselves to take more rights away, like Republicans are..

Easy, the same reason they wanted all the illegals to be here and legal citizens.
VOTES
That is the left. They don't care how they get there, they just want the votes.

I like gay people just fine.
What I don't like are Republicans. That's why I don't vote for them.

It's all about votes on both sides of the aisles.
