When someone answers a question and smugly hands out the WRONG information as if it's a fact? Doesn't that piss you off, or is it just me?

Case in point: Some guy asked about buying an acoustic guitar, and this moron writes back that he should buy "A Fender, a Gibson, or a Les Paul"... in case you don't know about guitars, first of all, a Les Paul IS a Gibson guitar -- an electric one, too, NOT an acoustic. Also, Fender is well known for the quality of their electric guitars -- and the general lack thereof in their acoustic models! For some reason just reading that response makes me totally disgusted! Does blatant stupidity actually make you mad too???

I'm so happy to hear that so many people agree -- there's hope for the human race yet! :)

...and for the guy who owns a Fender acoustic, alright, they're not utter garbage but they're not the first thing I'd recommend for someone who is looking to buy a high quality acoustic guitar either.

It really does bother me greatly, too. I try to research or be able to back up every answer I give and statement I make. I see so much misinformation, but it would take so long to correct many of them.

One response that angered me was someone saying he or she doesn't watch Leave It to Beaver because it degrades women! That's a little statement, but it's so completely ungrounded that I fired back~and received Best Answer! So, maybe we should start calling people on instant-but-incorrect answers. That's worse than "yes" or "no" as a response!

So, perhaps we do need to leave a post stating that responses are incorrect, even if it's not information that we can refer to quickly.

I also do not care for people leaving jokey responses simply because they want points for answering. If I could delete those answering my questions that way, I would be very happy.

"You're wrong! ZAP!"

AND, I hate misspellings and mangling language. Some questions and responses are a total mystery; I can't decipher them.

Sorry for venting so much, but I do support you in your disgust of faked advice.

Not to mention Fender acoustics suck!! Gibson acoustics can be pretty good though. I've never heard someone refer a Les Paul as an acoustic. That's just makes it obvious the guy had no right to give advice on acoustics to begin with.

You're right about the guitars. Yes. It does make me bristle a little inside but I don't get mad. I'm just so used to hearing things like that, I am almost immune.

What is really irritating though is when someone shovels out wrong information and half of the people in the room are enthrawlled with the blittering baffoon. grrrrrrrr. lol

Drive you nuts? I can not stand it anymore! I see it all the time on here though. Did you ever look at the medical advice people give. It is just nuts. If anyone does what other people suggests on questions and answers, they are probably not around to answer any more questions, or ask any questions. Not only that, but I am sick and tired of kids asking everyone else to do there homework for them. And then there are people stupid enough to do it for them. And look at the stupid questions they ask. I think they just like to blow there own horn. Oh well! This I guess that will never end. But thanks for asking. I totally agree with you.

I didn't read the case in point-- but the other day my friend was telling me that I was completely wrong about the definition of ironic-- she said ironic was like a coincidence, and she acted like I was a total idiot because I was using the word wrong-- well guess what, I went home, asked everyone I knew what the definition of ironic was, and I looked up the definition on line-- guess who was right-- me =)

yes, it drives me nuts and I'm absolutely furious at my friend for this because she does it about everything, acts like she knows everything, and that I'm a total idiot-- and most of the time, I'm right, and she's off pah. I want to prove I'm right every time-- but I never do, PAH!

srry about that, it was kinda a rand...

Yes, but I have to disagree w/ you on the quality of fender acoustics. They're certainly not high end, but I'm very happy with the level of performance I get out of mine for the price I paid.

the short answer is that i have owned many different guitars over the years and i can tell you that you are exactly right. i feel the same way about all the other answer you allude to. they will just jump in and try to make 10 and at least 2. they are the gamers.

My beef is: why do they even have categories when anyone and everyone answers anyway? That's why you saw someone who answered that didn't know anything about guitars...just like people that answer parenting questions that are only children themselves...annoying.

If it is on Y&A, I am not annoyed at all; particuarly since the respondents are not necessarily experts. In fact, I think many of the responses I come across could fall easily under the heading: "Their ignorance is bliss".

I can totally see your point. If it was a subject I really knew something about and someone wrote some b.s. about it and I knew it was b.s. I'd want to somehow warn the asker that it was the wrong info. How frustrating!
