If before you went to bed, you could choose exactly what you wanted your dream to be, would you use it for pleasure, fear-facing, etc?
Do you think we could do this in the future? What would different goups of people choose?

i dont think technology will help us on this one!
as of now, your subconscious chooses to show you what has been going on in the back of your mind, helps you prepared for real life. like 'practicing' what you will do when that day finally comes ... first day of school, facing a fear, getting married. sometimes they are more metaphorical.
it actually shows you this images to stay alive.

i would definitely choose it for pleasure, dream of things i had always want to happen, no matter how crazy. i probably would avoid fear facing even though its fake.
the downside would be, it would cause depression. if people could just sleep and do whatever they wanted to, always be happy, free from judgement ... would they ever want to wake up?

I would love to be able to choose my dreams. What I would choose to do would be the things I want to do in real life but can't. An innocent example (to spare you from hearing anything more graphic!): Flying or being able to breathe underwater. That would be SO MUCH FUN!

Hopefully, we won't be able to completely program our dreams. Spontaneity is important to me. But, I'd sure like to return to the dream I had a few years ago, where I was having a menage-a-trois!
