The Toyota dealers in Washington state won't let any Canadian people buy a car from them...isent that discrimination?

Its not my credit or import/export laws...its that Toyato does not want to lose money by Canadians buying cars in the US for cheaper...they want you to buy them at Canadian Toyota dealers.

Of course there are Toyotas in Canada....GM does the same thing...its a proven fact that it is cheaper for us to buy cars in the US (with the free trade agreement [in the case of GM's]) and even import cars are cheaper.

If the Canadian resident citizens would buy a car in the state of Washington, it would create a paperwork nightmare for them to take the car home. You are getting involved in export-import, foreign banking and a host of other things..
They don't sell Toyotas in Canada?

And if everybody bought there cars in the US, where the heck do you think they would be serviced? This isn't new. Cars were cheaper in Canada before. Chrysler started this when the PT Cruiser was cheaper in Canada, and Americans were buying them, so Chrysler told all dealers American residents wouldn't get warranty on cars they went to Canada to buy. If you go to the US and bring back a new GM, you have no warranty for the first 6 months, Bring back a new Chrysler, you have no warranty period. All makes will do it soon enough, to protect dealers on both sides of the border, now and in the future.

It's been done before. Sony tvs used to have a 5 year warranty in Canada, but were cheaper in the US. People got mad when they bought a tv in the US and Sony only gave them a 1 year warranty in Canada. Other tv and vcr manufacturers gave no cross-border warranty, and why should they?
