No. When you're pregnant, it is closed. If it's open, it's referred to as an "incompetent cervix" which needs to be addressed to prevent miscarriage.

The cervix opens when you go into labor = dilating.

Good luck!

Your cervix is always closed, pregnant or not. The os (opening into the uterus) that goes through the middle of the cervix is only big enough for sperm to find their way through.
When you're pregnant and near your due date, it begins to soften, thin out, and will dilate a bit, but labor is when the major dilation takes place, it opens up completely to approx. 10cm which allows the baby to pass through.

It should be tightly closed if you are pregnant. It starts to soften and dilate (open) when you go into labour. An open cervix during pregnancy usually means they could/would actually stitch it shut to prevent premature labour.

Hope that answers your query!

When you are pregnant your cervix closes up, tightens and hardens. If it were open the baby and everything else would come out. Hope that answers your question

well sweetie your cervix has to soften before you can dial-ate in order to give birth so many times they use a crvical jell to soften up the cervix if there not effaced or totally ready to let the baby heads emerge which requires soft and tissue that can be moved easily ~~~~~~~
