Why do you think that's so?
Are people just in a rush?
Do people see this all as a points-game?
What about those who have very serious, life-problem questions?
How come they get like four or five answers, while
"Who's your favorite movie star," gets 50?
What IS the motivation of those who answer?
Entertainment or the desire to help others or the desire to be heard and liked, or what?

The stupid ones are the easiest to answer and thus, get the most points. People, these days, do not want to have to think about serious stuff. Some of us use this as a way of getting away from our everyday mundane lives. I have posed serious questions and received BS answers, but then, there were those that I appreciated taking time out to help me.

That is a very awesome statement.
Yes, the shallowest questions do get the most answers. I think it's because some people just want the points. But really, it's defeating the purpose of this great website we call Yahoo! Answers.
I try as hard as possilbe to answer questions I see as easily and honestly answered from real ideas/emotions/ etc. I like the concept of this website; to help one another. It's what God intended us to do; "love one another as I have loved you".
People need to stop answering questions that are shallow and superficial (I mean it's okay to answer in polls and surveys for fun) and start looking for questions to answer that you may be able to answer with a kind heart.

It gives your mind a release without a lot of serious thought. It serves as a good outlet. People deal with so much throughout the day they just want something superficial to get em by.

it's to be heard and to have fun. maybe there is no life experience for most so they want to answer the most ridiculous.
I enjoy seeing them. This is the category to ask it. The serious section is elsewhere.

What would you do for a Klondike bar? What's your favorite color? Do you think I look cute? What would you do for a million dollars? Would you jump into a big tub of....?
Over and over the same dumb questions. I just pass on those ones.

If you're asking in the Polls & Surverys section then it's for pure fun. If you're trying to get real help, this isn't the right section. Not our fault, we're in the right area.

It's always dumb questions that people pay the most attention to. If you stand in a crowd and say something smart, people don't hear it. They're too stupid to hear it.

I think the reason is just that. People want to give quick and easy answers. Also they put it in polls section so hey it's just a poll that's why. IT's easy to answer. there you go.

but to answer your question people dont like to think so they answer the easy questions
