OK, if the ambulance is on its way to the hospital with someone in the back, in an emergency, and they see an accident or some kind of emergency on the raod, do they stop, or keep going??

What is the law, if anyone knows, or does it go by just ethics??

Do they keep going and call another one out or what.. Please help, thanks

Normally ambulances do not stop if they have someone inside w/ an emgerency. They will usually call their dispatcher and tell them so send another crew to the other location but I think that is per local emergency medical protocols not "laws" per se.

If the ambulance is transporting a patient to the hospital - they keep going. 1. Most likely another ambulance has already been dispatched to the accidnet scene if there were injuries. 2. It's an ambulance - not a bus - it can only transport so many patients at one time. 3. Purpose of ambulance with lights/sirens is to get a patient to the hospital quickly - that's why they get to run red lights. Stopping at another accident scene defeats that purpose.
