Cartilage forms most of the embryonic skeleton.

Cartilage which is largely made up of collagen fibers and cells called chondrocytes, is a type of dense connective tissue. Embryonic skeletons are made up mostly of hyaline cartilage which is present in non-embryonic skeletons and serves as centers for ossification.
