Endothelial tissue lines interior surfaces of the blood vessels. Endothelial tissues line the entire circulatory system and play a role in reducing the friction from flowing blood cells. Endothelial cells are also activated following tissue damage or an infection and will provide signals helping to direct white blood cells to the site of an infection.

Endothelial tissue is a special type of epithelium tissue.
