I have a house in MI that because of taxes, we've had an escrow shortage. Is that something that can be checked into, or reassessed, or do I just get to take it in the teeth?

Both, if you feel over taxed, Mi. has a tax tribunal once a year, where you can dispute them. On the other matter , if you can not get it reduced, have your lender adjust your pmt. accordingly. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Have your taxes increased? You should receive notices concerning your property taxes. If your home has been reassessed, there are ways to appeal. The notices should tell you what procedures to follow.

It's been my experience, that sometimes mortgage companies have problems getting escrow accounts to come out right. The first few years I had my house, I would get a refund check for overpayment and then a few months later, I'd get a notice the escrow was short and the monthly amount was going up.
