Oh you are a demon!! I live in the wrong state. Not too many strip clubs here in Utah. I did have a friend who was a stripper .... exotic dancer and some of the things she showed me ..... WOW! Made for a few hot nights with my husband! I think I should try those again!

I think timeouts are based on three assumptions: the child knows the 'correct' way to behave; s/he is able to consistently control him/herself and; s/he actually understands the concept of staying on the naughty step. Even for a mature child whose parent's have been teaching him/her about behaviour for a long-time, about 2.5 to 3 years might be a realistic time. For example, I have seen children under 3 put themselves on the naughty step after doing something they think is wrong and it is usually for something that the parent would not put them there for i.e. the child didn't really understand, and obviously the timeouts had not taught that child to recognize appropriate from inappropriate behaviour. Seventeen months is not too old for the terrible twos to be starting. It's a good time to start teaching, and quite easy to use distraction at that age. I think starting timeouts on a feisty 17 month old might increase power struggles when you get into the real terrible twos. Just like adults, some kids have more 'drive' than others. While the terrible twos are not inevitable for every child, I don't think your son is going to be one of those easygoing kids who've never thrown a tantrum, regardless of how much parenting you do. Personally, if my son were this way, I'd spend a lot of time teaching appropriate behaviours before starting timeouts, or at least do these two together. Timeouts can really take the focus off teaching and practicing appropriate behaviour.

ROFLOL!!!! I've been there too! Same place, in Dallas! I only went one time and we had a table over by where the guys would go to wait to come out onto the stage!
Now, never having been in a strip place, I was as green as a cucumber! LOL Those guys would stretch and swy their hips to get loosened up for their show and I tell you, I never laughed so hard in all my life! In fact, some guy came over and told me that I had hurt one of the strippers feelings for laughing at him! Good grief! That made me laugh harder!
Needless to say, my friends were more than happy to know that I was more than ready to leave that place! I have never seen such feminine men in all my life! ROFLOL By the way, that was over twenty years ago and I have sat here laughing my backside off, remembering that night!!

Yes with a group of friends to the first one in our vicinity, our husbands were all out of town. We wanted to check it out. Boy it was awful(we all had good looking husbands)we knew the guys would be mad. About an hour after we left the police raided the place and hauled everyone to jail. Were we ever thankful we left about 15 minutes after we got there. Years later I went with my husband and two other couples to La Boyse in Las Vegas, we gals had a blast, we yelled, clapped & so on , the guys were not to amused. My husband took me to a male naughty show with the guys dressed like women I have never laughed so hard in my life. This was also in Las Vegas.

Yup. About 20 years ago. Went with two friends early in the day. There weren't many people there. We were trying to be gentlemen by not staring and making a big deal out of the fact that this busty red head was on stage. We were talking amongst ourselves and drinking beer. The busty red head stopped the music, walked over to our table, and asked why we didn't like her. So we relocated to a closer table, stared, and made a big deal of it. We, and she, were all happy then.

Yep, went to one here in the DC area - all male revue - with my youngest daughter and her friends who were celebrating her 40th birthday. It was a hoot! Had more fun watching the younger women act up than I would have imagined...

Yes, I went to strip clubs when I was younger...male and female! The best one was a PT Show Club in Colorado. We just sat at a large round table, and the male dancers just kept jumping from table to table. It was nice. I would definitely do that again!
