This patch is on the top right corner of there jerseys with a "C" and some stars under it. (I noticed these patches on more than one person on each team.)

It means team Captain; the stars stand for the number of years.

The C is for Captain. The other players on their team elected them to be their leader.

C means Captain. Which is mostly the player who calls the plays. usually 1 on offense ,defense ,kick off, kick off returns,punt returns and special teams .

they are the captains.

it's usually the QB RB or WR but occasionaly a beasty lineman or TE will be the captain
