They are probably working for American corporations, who are paying them less than the average American worker. That is how the rich get richer, and that is the center of the Neocon policy.

This is really a question about the legality of Mexican trucks picking up cargo in ports im Western Mexico and driving on a thruway that is being built along a corridor to northern cities like Chicago and Detroit....This huge freeway has been in planning for many years before 9-11(yes there was life before our "change of life") It was being bankrolled by government and which huge corporations...but the secret is out and controversy reigns because of US trucking industry and Migrant/border issues now in the headlines...It is surely going to be another avenue for the trucking of desparate people trying to find work in the US...(Drug cartels are involved in the new trucking of illegal immigrants into the US by our highways... but that is beside the point...Who else but Bush and croneys in government wanted that highway because it was an alternative to the Panama canal(which is due for the enlargment starting in 2010) this may delay products from the West(east in economic terminology) Also another alternative may soon be available(if not controlled by Russia) in the summer...That famous Northwest passage may be another alternative....(By the way that super highway is 10 -12 lanes across and for trucks only)

For those that support Mexican trucks on OUR highways, have a good look at one of these trucks when you are on the interstate and it gets behind you at 80 mph. Do you think it meets US safety standards?

Offhand, I'd say because they are idiots.
It's not enough that the jobs in both Information Technology and fast food are going to foreign labor (if not being DONE overseas), now they're going after the truck drivers.

We've had Canadian Trucks on our roads all these years. If the truckers can follow our laws why should they be treated any differently. All this hubbub is about the Unions losing business, and not about anything else.
