I think the doctors were able to to close the placenta, (I'm not exactly sure how) and now she has to stay in bed @ the hospital for at least 4 more weeks before she can have the baby.

I'm curious as to what could cause this, how it happens, and what it means for the baby.

Thanks for any answers!

She has to do exactly what the doctors say. If they say bedrest and dont get out of bed at all, you cacnt get out of bed AT ALL this is a high risk pregnancy obviously if it wasnt before, it is now! and she needs to just relax and do what they tell her and she should be fine. The baby will be premature but can be fine with a little help from the NICU. Im not saying things cant go wrong, they can, baby could get an infection, lung problems...anything but you shouldnt think negative, just positive thoughts until you know anything for sure! Good luck for your family!

-And sorry but i dont kno why this happens..It could be a number of things, you could talk to the doctor and then do research online about it, thats all i can suggest.

It can abrupt due to different reasons. She will have to be very careful and adhere to the strict bedrest. She has a really long road ahead of her, and so does the baby.
