If you are not on Disney property, you take your car and pay the parking fee. From the parking lot there are signs to go the the trams that will take you to the gate from there you take either the boat or the train that goes above the ground that will take you to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

To get to the Magic Kingdom park....if you are staying offsite, you would park your car at the Magic Kingdom parking lot and then either walk or ride the tram to the Ticket and Transportation Center. There you would get on the monorail that takes you directly to the park. Make sure it is the Express Monorail and not the resort monorail, unless you want to hop off and check out the different resorts on the monorail line. Also at the Ticket and Transportation Center there is a huge ferry that you can take to get there as well.
If you are staying at one of the Disney Resorts, then you would (depending on where you are staying) go to the busstop at your resort and wait for the bus that is going to that park, it will drop you off at the main entrance. If you are staying at Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness Campground, then there is a ferry that will take you to the park. If you are staying at one of the monorail resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian) then you can take the monorail over. These resorts also have a ferry that can take you to the park as well.

You can use the transportation system even if you are not staying on the property. There will be a tram that travels around the parking lot to the park.

whether you take the Ferry or the Monorail, just enjoy it. The Ferry is a great way to go if this is your first time.
You let the anticipation build and build as you head your way over there. It is grand as you see the Castle get close and closer, soon you are there, and you head to the turnstile and you enter and the Magic is complete and you are there.
BTW it is $11.00 to park now.

You go wait at the end of the row you parked in and then a tram will come and pick you up and bring you to the gates. It's a free ride, but it's $8 to park.

You go to the end of your row and there is a tram that picks you up. Just make sure you remember to write down your parking row number and the name of the parking lot you are in. I always would use my cell phone camera and take a picture of it. They are located at the end of the rows. You really dont want to forget where you are parked. That happened to us our first trip to Disney. We went to EPCOT and my husband went to the car to put stuff in it and he was gone for about an hour and at the time we didnt have cell phones. So there was know way for me to know what he was doing until he showed up. Luckily he found a security guard who was able to help. Who drove him around until he found the car. Needless to say we always made sure to write it down after that. Good luck and have fun.

They have a tram that takes you closer or you can walk. There are plenty of signs. Just be sure to remember which character sign you parked at. Have a great time!
