Gold is usually measured in troy weight, which is different from avoirdupois. A pound of feathers is about 454 grams, but a (troy) pound of gold is only about 373 grams. So the feathers weigh more.

An ounce of gold, however, weighs more than an ounce of feathers.

Their masses are exactly the same. Their volumes and densities are different.
