It is necessary to help drive the "fear" and "victim" mentality.
In other words, it's hogwash.
The truth is: "Sex offenders were less likely than non-sex offenders to be rearrested for any offense –– 43 percent of sex offenders versus 68 percent of non-sex offenders."
The Department of Justice does not agree with the 1 in 5 statement of girls being molested before their 18th birthday, in fact, it doesn't agree with 1 in 5 being molested in their entire life.

"Family Watchdog" is a for profit organization that depends on fear to drive their bottom line. They are simply creating the "need" for their services via propaganda.

That's why you need to talk with your children about what is appropriate touching and what isn't. A lot of those children get molested by relatives, who often lead them to believe they are only being affectionate when in fact, they're not.

What are you supposed to think about? The validity of the statistic, or the horror of it?

It's definitely accurate. Definitely horrible, too.

It's tragic. Texan is completely right, we need to make sure our kids now what is ok touching and what crosses a line. They also need to know that if anything like that happens, they should talk to their parents or a teacher...
