I have to figure out whether or not some examples comply with the constitution and i have to find what article and section some they go under.
I've got most of them, but there's one I can't find which article and section it goes under.
In the directions it says it has to be in Article I, IV, or VI or Amendment X.
"Displeased with the US Postal Service, the state legislature of Nevada has passed a law creating the Nevada Postal Service."
I already know it doesn't comply with the Constitution, but for some reason I just can't find what section. Please help! Thanks.
Could it be Article 6, The Supremacy Clause?
If not, which do you think it is?

here's the constitution:

well, i think what it was saying was they're making a state postal service to replace the us postal service, or at least that's how i read it.

As long as Nevada's Postal Service doesn't preclude the U.S. Postal service, I'm not entirely sure why they couldn't just compete with eachother, constitutionally.

Poke around Article 1, section 9. Postal services aren't specifically forbidden to the states, but charging for stamps on a letter or package that left the state could be considered a duty or tariff, and that is forbidden. That, along with the supremacy clause, should probably sink the idea. Hope that helps, good luck!

I think you're probably right, Section 8 does list off the post office, so that's probably what your teacher's looking for. Although it doesn't seem to say anywhere that ONLY Congress has that power...

When the state of Nevada starts losing money on the deal they will tip their hat for the job the US Postal Service does.

In America there is nothing wrong with competition. The U.S. postal service can still operate within Nevada. AND, so can any other postal service. Think FedEx, UPS, and DHL for examples. It not like they trying to overthrow the USPS with bombs and war. They just do it by providing a better service. What this does; Now the USPS is confronted with competition and can no longer monopolize the playing field. I think the constitution says something about "Monopolies". It just took a while for private business (And I guess States) to be able to challenge the Government Monopoly.
