3|p-5| = 2p; | | represents absolute value.

First
3(p-5) = 2p
3p - 15 = 2p
p = 15

3|p-5|=2p
case 1: p-5 >0
3(p-5)=2p
3p-15=2p
p=15
case 2: p-5 < 0 then |p-5| = -(p-5) =-p+5
3(-p+5)=2p
-3p+15=2p
-5p=-15
p=5

You'll have to consider 2a+7 >0
and 2a+7 < 0 substitue -2a-7 and solve in this case

consider 3x-7 > 0 use 3x-7
3x-7 <0 use -3x+7
