Human race? Not really, but in a manner yes just as it would be bad to be ashamed of your cultural race. See by being ashamed, you are dissapointed and to be dissapointed in an entire race you are in turn generalizing/ pigeon holing the entire race into one perspective. There will always be people who do rather dumb, prejudiced things within whatever race that will have people go out and just feel as if they wish to pull themselves away and dissociate from that group. Yet not every race is the same and not everyone either, truly for all those who disappoint you there are more who are just like you and do not act in that manner. So next time you see something that makes you feel that way, consider that they are a small percentage of a huge population of people.

Why do you ask? 'Race' is kind of arbitrary. As is your hair color. You don't choose your 'race'. You are just born that way. There is really no such thing as 'race', anyway. Are you a different 'race' because you have brown eyes? Are you a different 'race' because you have blonde hair? We are all human. If you have brown hair, and someone else with brown hair does something stupid, should YOU feel ashamed? The concept of 'race' is a way to keep people with dark skin under control. Democrats, especially, play this up. As do the 'black' 'leaders'. If I can convince you that you are oppressed, and that I can help you, I stand to make money. Nevermind the fact that I have segregated you in the first place, to make sure that you stay subjugated, that allows me to make the claim that I am 'helping' you.

No, it's perfectly normal. I feel ashamed of mainly the human race in general because we can never learn from our mistakes. But you should take what you feel ashamed of your race and put that toward trying to improve it. Use it as a stepping stone to not only improve yourself but try to improve your race if possible.

Regardless of WHAT race you are,,there will be things that your race has done which you as an individual will feel ashamed of. It is NOT "wrong" to feel this way.

yes its wrong to feel ashamed, your should feel proud of who you are. but i'm mixed with native indian and i look like it alot, people back in the days gave me problems and make fun of that, never understood why because they also have it in their blood down the line too, but the only difference was that i acally looked like one, they made fun of it and after a while it make me feel ashamed of being one and I don't like to have those features sometimes. My hair is naturally curly and i dont liek to straighten it because i will look more indian and my hair is really long. I didn't (and still don't) know any other american indians to relate to or share any cultural values with. i dont like to look like one sometimes, but then at the same tmie i try to embrace it and feel proud to be one and to learn about them on my own (aside from what they teach you in school). im probably the only one that gave you a real, honest answer. Im embarrased to say so, but oh well. So.. why do you ask your question are you ashamed of being Mexican?

I don't feel ashamed of my race ever. I feel ashamed of what people do. If this world ever figures out that every one of us got the same pieces and parts and that we are all just people, it will be a much better place to try to survive.

Do not let others make you feel bad of your race. Just because of the negetive things your race does, or have done. Remember only you can change how another person feels of your race. You do not make your entire race.

Yes, it's wrong.
White people have done some heinous things but i am not ashamed of white people - just ashamed of the individual acting upon such attorcities!
Just because one person/group does such a bad thing i don't take it out on the people as a whole.

Agree with Skittles down there!

You should see yourself as an individual and not worry about what people in your race is doing. I am black and there is alot of stupidity that i s going on in my community but I do not let it get to me. As long as I am doing the right thing that is all that matters.
