C. Diffusion is the only correct answer.

Why?
A, B, and D all involve moving something through a plasma membrane. D also requires a cell to use energy.

Diffusion just means that molecules move around randomly and as a result move more from the higher concentration to the area of lower concentration.

This is an example of diffusion. It can't be osmosis because osmosis is the movement of H2O from an area of higher concentration to lower concentration. Active transport is refering to when a molecule needs the aid of either another molecule ie. a hormone or an ion ie. Na+ in order to cross a membrane and is not facilitated difussion either because there is no "extra help" it just diffuses through the air without any help.....hope it helps
