He stood there on the stage, droning on like a bloody fool, while the police hauled a kid away and, after about 5 minutes of screaming and rolling on the floor, tasered him.

Couldn't he have reacted right away, stepped down off the stage, told the police to please release the kid and then told the kid to calm down, collect his thoughts and frame his question? Wouldn't that be the natural thing to do? Isn't that what how you'd expect a war hero like Kerry to act?

I think in that situation the right thing to do was let the police do their job. If you watch the video, you could see them sort of tense up every time Kerry talked (or maybe its just my imagination wanting to see that, but I'm pretty sure I'm right). They yelled at everyone else when other people started talking, but they couldn't start screaming "Shut up!" at John Kerry. They needed quiet from everyone else in the room so they could stop the hysteria and get that kid under control.

Kerry couldn't have helped that situation by intervening in any way.

That said, Kerry should have shut up completely. What he did was another lame attempt at a middle ground between fighting for a cause/helping and sitting back/hoping for the best.

And for all the Bush haters out there, you can't argue that a Texas good ol' boy wouldn't have helped stop that scuffle right quick, no sirree he woulda done shut that durn fool up, Texas-style.

Why the hell would it be Kerry's fault? It's obviously the GUARDS' fault. Who tasers a man for questioning his government? Here's the REAL story.

During a question-and-answer session with a few remaining questioners, Kerry announced he would take no more questions from the two short lines. Meyer, who had been waiting in line, reportedly approached an open mike, and insisted that Senator Kerry answer the questions of the people who had been waiting in line. Kerry agreed that it would be fair to answer the questions of the remaining people as well. Kerry then fielded a question from the other line, before returning to Meyer's line and Meyer. Meyer prefaced his question for the audience and Kerry, then proceeded to ask three questions:

1. Why did Kerry concede the 2004 presidential election before results were tallied and despite multitudes of disenfranchised voters(as documented by journalist Greg Palast)?

2. On what grounds does Kerry not support the impeachment of President George W. Bush?

3. Were Kerry and Bush both members of the same college fraternity known colloquially as Skull and Bones?

Just after Meyer had asked his third and final question, four police officers seized him and began escorting him away as Kerry said, "Let me answer his question." The student resisted them and demanded an explanation of the officers' conduct. He screamed "Help!", "What have I done?" and "Get away from me!", with his arms raised in the air to show his non-violence, as the officers restrained him and dragged him to the back of the room. The officers placed him on the ground and attempted to handcuff him. Audience members can be heard to ask, "What has he done?", "Why are you doing this?" and "Stop!". As Meyer lay pinned by five officers, they threatened to taser Meyer. Meyer stated that if allowed up, he would gladly leave. The officer replied that this is not his choice. Meyer pleaded the officer not to taser him, stating: "Don't tase me bro, don't tase me". This alleged resistance was followed by an officer tasering him. He continued screaming for help as the officers removed him from the room amidst the crowd and cameramen chasing after. He can repeatedly be heard crying out "Ow! Ow! Ow!" during the tasing incident. Meyer was then arrested.

Fox news quoted two experts who believe Meyer could claim the use of excessive force in the incident. Attorney Karen Conti said Meyer has a good argument for excessive force since officers Tasered him when he was under control. Conti said, "I think the police officers were probably embarrassed that this was going on," Conti said. "I think they weren’t expecting anything like this and I think they overreacted." Fox News also quoted Greg Lukianoff, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a free-speech group. He said the videotape(s) could help prove excessive force.

As you see, John Kerry didn't HAVE a My Pet Goat moment. He SHOULDN'T have had to react to a man questioning his government. Asking questions to what could've changed the outcome of the 2004 elections. Why should John K. worry about a random shmuck who gets tasered for no good reason. It really is the guards' fault. Disturbing the peace my foot. All the kid did was ask a question. And J.K. wasn't even talking, he was taking a question. There's no use stepping into an unresolvable situation. The kid says something that threatens the system and the system comes down on it with anger and misunderstanding.

Besides, be lucky didn't get the whole lobotomy treatment. If he had REALLY made the government mad, he'd have gotten the whole lobotomy and Ridillin addiction.

In a rare moment Kerry did the right thing.
Let the police handle the situation.

The nut ball didn't need to throw punches at cops.

I do believe any one who comes out with that kind of consiparcy junk should be shocked a few times.

Or, any age rather whilst they experience the unconditional love of a puppy, it somewhat is soothing. pondering all of those factors i assume that could desire to upload it sluggish onto your existence. Supposedly assessments have been performed and a guy or woman's blood tension is decreased, their respiration is slower whilst they're sitting comfortable and petting a canine or cat. That does make experience to me. decrease brood tension takes tension off the midsection, and so on. i could accept as true with a number of this and easy experience smart it form of feels suitable. i've got seen it first hand with people who've loving pets of their lives. Loneliness, rigidity, and isolation may be killers for useful.

Sure he could have told the police to release the kid.

Then you would have posted a question about John Kerry obstructing justice and hating the police.

Kerry stopped acting like a war hero when he voted to authorize bush's war. I expected nothing from him after that, but I have to say, this was a new low. Pathetic.

At least Kerry didn't help to taser him like a republican would have. If he had interfeared with the police, right wingers would be dogging him out for that.

I support electroshock therapy for all Internet conspiracy nut jobs. Kerry did the right thing by allowing the police to administer it to this poor, deranged, young man.

Someone I know was at the speech and told me what happened. In his own words:

I was there at the show - he was a complete jackass. His purpose was to get arrested. He was in the process of being escorted before the videos even started and interrupted very rudely. Before he got up, he gave his camera to his friend and said, "tape this". When he was taken away, he had no phone, no keys, and no wallet on him. NOBODY in today's world leaves those at home unless they know they're not going back home that day. He was NOT non-violent - shoving and kicking the officers and they said, "if you continue to resist arrest we will tase you". He didn't listen so they tased him.
