It should be personal choice.
The government should stay out of people's business.
And all the self-righteous, holier-than-thou religious fanatics can go eff themselves.
Edit: Of course, leave it to the ultra-fanatical religious types out there to be against freedom of choice.
Funny how some people can say they love America but CLEARLY hate Americans AND the Constitution. Separation of Church and State, remember..?
The only choice these people allow others to have is the one where everybody agrees with only them.
And people wonder how the Nazis were able to get an entire country (Germany) to go along with their Final Solution. And lest we forget, the Nazi party was Conservative and very religious.
Hmmm.... so let's flip to our history books: Crusades (religious wars), burning "witches" (innocent women) at the stake, gay bashing, molesting children, and all sorts of other perversions, and yet they claim to know what's best for everyone.
Yeah.. these are the people who follow a book (the bible) that was made up of bits and pieces STOLEN from other peoples' religion and they have the nerve to call it the truth.
Give me a break.

I'm not against abortions simply because lets say you get raped and your forced to keep the child, it would be a constant reminder of your rape. Or if your forced to keep a child that you can't raise because your on drugs or your unstable, that just isn't fair. And giving the child up for adoption is very tough because the child could end up in a foster home. Having an abortion isn't easy either thats why if you do think your pregnant and you don't wanna keep the baby you should just take a morning after pill.

Government mandated? LOL, do you know what that means?
Anyway, history will show that abortion is the most vile and embarrassing practice of our time. A nation founded on the precept that 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' are 'inalienable rights' and yet promotes the brutal murder of the most fragile and defenseless of our species by the millions each year is difficult for me to comprehend. And the fact that those who promote this barbaric practice most vehemently call themselves 'progressives' is incredible, but not surprising.
Still, no law on Earth will stop people from doing cruel and inhuman things so rather than outlaw the practice, we should change minds and educate the ignorant of what abortion really is, the petty, self serving motives behind it and what it says about us as human beings.

Well I don't think abortion is right but it should be allowed. There should be rules and laws that will protect an actual "life" when it is formed. If abortion is not legal many woman are going to look towards risky ways of having an abortion. The government should only regulate the rules and laws but not prohibit a persons right to free choice. If that happens what is going to stop them from prohibiting other stuff.

It is not government mandated!
Currently it is a choice between a physician and a patient, and a personal one. It is not one that you can make for them as you would like to do!
We have enough unwanted children in the world, often on the streets at 13 and dead before they are adults.
We have way too many throw-away kids, and those of you who want to FORCE someone to have a child are like Pontious Pilot! You wash your hands of them and start complaining about those on "welfare" (Which no longer exists) the very second they are born!
They say that those who are anti abortion, that the only moral abortion is their own!
Not a dummy: Please prove this as I know you can't!
"Science has no proven by observing twins in the womb that the babies are conscious and aware as young as 6 weeks" Perhaps you should change your name!
A fetus can't even live until the23rd week, the longest for 5 minutes. Even in the 26th week all die. And this is a scientific study I can prove

i am against it but its a women's right to choose what she does with her body and if abortion were made illegal women who don't want the babies would be trying to kill the fetuses and they would be arrested and thrown in prison and there is already enough people incarcerated in the prison system so i don't the government wants that even though its none of their business but unfortunately they have control so theirs not really much we can do
the only reason it has been legalized is because years ago before it was legalized women would stick hangers and stuff like that up themselves to get rid of the baby and they would die in the process so because too many women were dying so they legalized it in 1973

Yes
It should be mandated when a woman cannot take care of the child. There are 100 million children in need of adoption, so that won't work. There are 10 million that will die due to lack of medical care. So saving a fetus displaces children and causes the death of other children. In fact each fetus saved causes the death of 12 loved and wanted children.

I am completely against abortion. The fetus' heart begins to beat as early as the 5th week of pregnancy. If you don't want the baby, why kill it? Just give it up for adoption. There are a lot of people that would love to have children that aren't able to. Everyone deserves a chance at life!

personally i DO NOT agree with people having abortions (they make adoption agencies for a reason). i also do not agree that they should be government mandated. thats a choice for whoever would happen to be in that situation, and the government has no right whatsoever to tell you to get one or not!

I am all in favor of a woman's right to choose.
She can choose abstinence. She can choose contraception. She can choose to live with the consequences. If that choice is taken from her by a rapist she can choose to abort.
As for government-mandated abortion, I hope we have left that behind.
