I believe in fairies and I don't think that makes me stupid in anyway.(So what if I believe in something that may or may not be real(in your opinion), I like the idea of fairies and believe there is some magic in the world) Eric C is showing his closed mind- and human stupidity at it's finest (Judging others for believing differently than you). I teach my kids that they don't have to agree with or believe in things that other people do- but they will respect other peoples beliefs. If you don't believe in Fairies, UFO's, or whatever else that's fine, but you shouldn't judge other people who do and to call someone stupid for their personal beliefs is just ignorant, closed-minded, and bias. Tell the people of Ireland there is no such thing as fairies?!

Fairies have been portrayed in many different aspects, in most cultures, for centuries. From tiny, usually winged elemental beings associated with magic to less conspicuous nature spirits within plants or animals.

With that in mind, the belief in fairies doesn't stray that far from animist and wiccan beliefs who impart sentient and/or spiritual life to natural elements.

Also, many people believe in etheral beings like angels (and to a lesser extent demons and ghosts). The belief in angels is widespread and fairly widely accepted, even within major religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

Therefore, I think it is very likely that some people might not write off the existence of fairies. And of all beliefs in the world, it certainly wouldn't be the most damaging.

Yes, I believe fairies are real. Maybe if you do a bit of reading on the subject and examine the evidence, you will understand why I have come to that conclusion.

Just a thought.

Yup ... but then again - some people believe in UFO's... Bigfoot... the Loch Ness Monster... as well as Leprechauns and Fairies.

... (nothing much surprises me anymore - I never under-estimate the limits of human stupidity) ...

The only fairies I believe in are those in West Hollywood during the Gay Pride Parades.

Wow -- I'm usually not attacked like this outside of the "Religion & Spirituality" section... glad to see that I'm making an impact. (And I stand by my lack of belief)
